You will be responsible for:

• Perform Month end accounting, preparation & posting of Journals into the People Soft GL.
• Prepare Balance sheet reconciliations ( Monthly / Daily) as per Macquarie Reconciliation Policy
• Reporting – Statutory, Regulatory & Management reporting along with Variance analysis & commentaries ;  P&L Analysis & Variance Commentaries
• Preparation of Statutory Financial Statements including Groups' year end and half year end accounts along with relevant Notes to the Accounts.
• Develop Knowledge of the Business, Accounting Systems, Reconciliation policy, Finance Control Standards & Quality Framework and ensure compliance with these.
• Perform Knowledge based self review of work and ensure work with highest standards of Accuracy is delivered consistently.
• Support internal BORM / FORM Reviews of the processes, External Audit requirements, and other requests.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Graduation in Commerce
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience in an International firm.
• Added advantage if the candidate is part-qualified CA, CWA or CPA.
• Experience in financial accounting is an advantage.
• Finance or Taxation experience within a shared services environment or financial services an advantage (but not essential)
• Willingness to travel overseas
• Willingness to work in different time zones to support clients.

GFS is responsible for identifying opportunities to support greater operational scalability via enhanced financial controllership, Quality, process standardisation, delivering cost efficiency, best practice service excellence management and enhanced operational / financial risk control. GFS is also looking to expand its service offering beyond finance and into areas such as investment banking and other processes performed by Macquarie business groups. It's this expansion which will drive the future growth of GFS.
