Description
The candidate will be based out of Mumbai and will be working with the Equities ETF, Structured Finances and Converts Trading desk (London). The role suits a self-motivated, highly energetic individual who has a strong background in mathematical analysis. The role offers great opportunity to the candidates to build on their knowledge of and exposure to interest rate products, risks as well as valuation.
Responsibilities include:
The candidate will be involved in –
· Daily trading runs – ETF composition validations, CPF data refresh/update
· Developing, managing spreadsheets to analyze the trading books and generate new trade ideas for the trading desk such as
o ETF database analytics
o Generic pricing tools to identify share purchase
o Stock alerts based on metrics/vol/options to identify stock picks
o Build spreadsheets analyzing converts based on RV
o Spreadsheets for trade monitoring
· Build new models for convertible securities to monitor/analyze securities in the trading book and identify new ideas.
· Support the desk in updating client marketing material/presentations
· Coordinate with the support teams, IT, Ops, FCG to help with rehyphothecated stock realignment
· Support the desk in running key client analytics to help with better client servicing
Qualifications
· Engineers (Tier 1 institute) or MBAs
· 1-3 years’ work experience in Banking/Financial Services in Converts, Quants, Structured Finance or Derivative Trading
· Coursework/Strong understanding in Economics, Econometrics, Finance
· Good communication skills – written as well as telephonic. There will be regular communication with the trading desk and the person needs to be able to understand the requirements and express their thoughts clearly.
· High level of attention to detail
· Proficiency in MS Office products – Excel, Powerpoint
· Advance knowledge of VBA and programming in C++
· Coursework in Statistics is a plus
In addition, the candidate should have theoretical or practical understanding of -
· Convertible securities, Options, ETF/Index products and their behavior over time
· Understanding of Structured Finance/Margin Lending business will be a plus.
· Basic options trading strategies
· Understanding of Vol, skew, pricing/payoffs of equity, options, Convertibles will be useful
