Should be a qualified Chartered Accountant with a post-qualification experience of 5 – 6 years. Should possess a good understanding of revenue accounting standards (preferably IFRS). Experience of working in a Big-4 or a global software company on software revenue accounting is highly preferred. Should give high importance to financial reporting integrity in the area of revenue accounting. Should develop processes and procedures to ensure compliance with revenue accounting policies. Should have experience in reviewing contracts for software sale/ post sale services/ implementation, prepare contract summaries, update revenue recognition checklist, identify appropriate revenue recognizable. Should manage all the monthly schedules at a standard that is auditable by PWC. Should have the know-how and confidence to manage and front end auditors. Should be able to anticipate possible issues that may come up, work on fixing the process & balances and escalate to management as needed. Should adopt a ‘no-surprises’ style of managing the process. Any issues should be highlighted at the first instance, develop solutions by working closely with local managements and stakeholders. Work on a project if needed to clean up the balances Work closely with stakeholders (located globally), manage & deliver on expectations, communicate effectively and in a timely manner. Should be confident discussing challenging issues with stakeholders and should act as a “go-to” person in the areas that would be allocated Should be capable of managing a team of accountants (2 – 4 in number). Should focus on training the team members and making them independent in the areas that they handle (process, accounting & communication with stakeholders). Should set high standards to ensure financial reporting integrity. Skills/Requirements Qualified CA Experience Typically 5-8 years experience.
