Job Description	Prepares Journal Entries and account reconciliations.   Specifically responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the ledger accounts and financial statements in compliance with Company and GAAP standards.   May participate in the most complex accounting projects. Performs all duties inherent in a senior role. Initial travel to move work from other First Data location to Melville location will most likely be required.
Job Specific Responsibilities	Job functions include understanding journal entries mechanically and conceptually that get recorded into the general ledger, account analysis, reporting of risk and opportunities.  Develop and maintain relationships with senior Accounting and Finance personnel for various Alliances.  Various reporting requirements including monthly balance sheet variance, Tax, SOX, MRC and Audit.  Participate in the monthly close process, including review of balance sheet and contract related journal entries, all accruals relating revenues (DIA), and other expenses.  Be able to identify issues and process improvements.
Candidate Requirements	4-year degree in Accounting, 3+ years public/private experience, Chartered Accountant preferred.  Candidate must have highly developed organizational skills due to significant job responsibilities.  The person must have the ability to function effectively in fast paced environment.  Also must have aptitude to interact with various levels/departments.  Knowledge of Oracle/General ledger & Microsoft office applications a plus.  Candidate must be to multitask effectively, think out of the box and understand the details but present the big picture and always be willing to learn new skills
