The company is largest independent mortgage loan servicer in the United States and the fifth largest overall mortgage servicer
Accounting for the Loan/ Real Estate Owned portfolio includes reconciliation preparation and approval, general ledger entries, financial reporting, special projects and facilitation of internal and external audits for held for sale/ real estate owned and warehouse lines on various legal entities.
This position Reports to the Senior Manager Finance
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the reconciliation of general ledger asset, debt and clearance accounts related to both held for sale and real estate owned.
· Ensuring the accuracy of accounting in the GL and responsibility for making journals where required.
· Preparation of monthly management reports and financial review packages.
· Communicating with other business units, researching and resolving the open reconciliation items and suspense clearing.
· Participate in special accounting related projects (ledger enhancements, reporting changes, etc)
· Respond to internal and external audit inquiry
· Compliance with internal controls frameworks
Key Result Areas:
· Timely and accurate submission of monthly and quarterly financial data
· Timely and accurate account reconciliation and escalation of rec items
· Identification of internal control gaps
· Maintenance of policies and procedures for area(s) of responsibility
Qualifications:
· Qualified Chartered Accountant with 4 to 6 years post qualification experience Certified public accountant (Chartered accountant equivalency) or MBA finance with 6+ years of accounting experience
· Knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles
· Skilled in computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
· Strong problem-solving skills
The candidate should be a self starter, be able to work in a highly challenging and dynamic work environment and should be able to contribute to projects beyond normal responsibilities.
Must be willing to work in 1 PM to 10 PM shift
The working days are Monday to Friday
