| A new position has become available within Rolls-Royce in India for a Tax Manager to ensure adherence to the Group’s tax compliance requirements in India and also to provide support on various ad hoc projects. Key accountabilities of the position include: 1. Preparation and submission of the tax returns in India in respect to the Rolls-Royce group companies including calculating relevant tax payments. 2. Ensuring RR Group Tax policies are adhered to locally. 3. Preparation of tax information for Group Headquarters for inclusion in budgets, forecasts and for reporting purposes. 4. Assistance in preparation of the year end tax provisions for local statutory accounts. Liaison with group accountants and external auditors to ensure that provisions are properly reflected in statutory accounts . 5. Ensure appropriate Tax risk Management processes are in place for India including frameworks for reporting taxes and duties that are able to produce an accurate and complete tax result consistently and that procedures exist to ensure the quality of the information submitted to tax authorities. 6. Dealing with tax authorities and advisors in India including answering questions that may arise and managing tax assessments and audits. 7. Initial identification of tax issues and opportunities arising 8. Provision of tax advice and support to the business sectors as required. 9. To provide assistance to the International Tax team in respect to ad-hoc projects relating to investment into India. Qualifications and experience Degree holder in Accounting (Chartered Accountant or equivalent ) or related business discipline and qualified accountant of recognized professional bodies At least 10 years’ experience gained from the sizable accounting firms( Big 4 preferred) or MNCs At least 3 years’ experience in multinational tax function preferred Achievement oriented and enthusiastic. Good communication skills, both with tax and non tax specialists. Ability to learn and develop expertise. Personable character, good ability to be persuasive and persistent in obtaining information. Strong computer literacy. This includes the ability to rapidly become familiar with new products and applications that enable the role to be performed more effectively. Knowledge of Indirect tax is desirable but not a prerequisite for this role. Key competencies for the role include:
