Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


Accountant will be expected to be a contributing performer, performing financial/decision support accounting work that supports business processes.
You will have the opportunity to deal with softer aspects of people management.
 
Additionally, this position will: 
Report to the sales accounting team. The incumbent would be exposed to various corporate sales accounting systems and would need to perform gross margin analysis, revenue recognition and other sales accounting activities for the legal entities assigned. Working knowledge of accounting systems such as SAP would be beneficial.
Need to handle complex accounting issues, such as Inventory valuation, LIFO/FIFO workings etc.
 
Accountant needs to interact with various Business & Process partners on a regular basis to ensure customer requirements are adhered.
Possible areas of responsibility are varied and of medium complexity, including: financial accounting, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, consolidations; internal management accounting, including profit center reporting and budgeting and margin analysis; coordination of purchased services and transfer prices; development and maintenance of internal controls and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley control documentation .
The incumbent would be required to respond to all customer queries as per the agreed timelines.
Need to support legal entity supervisors for completion of Local GAAP Audits and other reporting requirements.
The Accountant will demonstrate knowledge and ability to independently handle accounting issues.
 
They will demonstrate good communication skills and have an expanded knowledge of Caterpillar's businesses, products, suppliers and customers.
  


Required Qualifications:

* Professional qualification: Chartered Accountant from ICAI/ Cost Accountant from ICWAI 
* Willingness to relocate and be mobile minded
* Excellent Initiative, Communication, Leadership and Interpersonal skills
* 3-5 years of Accounting experience
* Prior experience of leadership


Desired skills:
* Working knowledge on SAP will be beneficial
* MS Office applications
