Note: This role can be based in Mumbai or Hyderabad

Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager Global Functions and Service Delivery Audit, the job holder will be accountable for the leadership and execution of audit assignments primarily within Global Functions and Service Delivery across the Group.  In so doing the job holder will work closely with senior stakeholders within the Group and lead various audit teams to provide assurance that risk has been properly assessed and that related controls are designed appropriately and are operating effectively.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Leading professional teams in the execution of audits, primarily within the Global Functions and Service Delivery audits across the Group.  In so doing, assessing risk, preparing risk-based audit plans encompassing governance and risk frameworks and current and emerging risks.
• Participating in audits as directed.
• Managing the follow-up, tracking, and reporting of audit issues applicable within the audits as directed.
• Driving the delivery of objectives in line with Audit repositioning strategy facilitating the achievements of functional results.
• Maintaining ongoing, consistent interaction with business units and executive management.  Building and maintaining networks and relationships with stakeholders within HSBC.
• Ensuring that Audit services are provided as appropriate meeting regulatory standards and stakeholders needs.
• Whilst conducting audits, the job holder will lead and motivate professional teams towards the vision of Audit set out by Global Internal Audit.
• Ensuring value added audit work is completed in accordance with Group Audit Standards Manual, and that Global Functional initiatives are in accordance with Group Risk appetite, standards and FIM requirements.
• Continually re-assessing the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic and market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management restructures, and the impact of new technology.
• Ensuring compliance and operational risk controls are in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimizing relations with regulators by addressing any issues.
• Promoting an environment that supports diversity and inclusion and reflects the HSBC brand.
 

Qualifications

 The ideal candidate will have:
• Proven and progressive internal audit and/or accounting experience, or equivalent.
• Strong awareness of risk and related controls within  Payments, Corporate Real Estate, Vendor Risk Management, Operations or Human Resources.  Proven ability to assess risk and the effectiveness of controls.
• Strong managerial, communications, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, lateral thinking and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and forward thinking.
• An inquisitive mind and ability to show leadership in an unstructured environment.
• Experience in the Financial Services industry.
• Professional certification (CPA, CA, or CIA) is desirable.
• Ability to operate effectively in a globally-matrixed organisation
• Willingness to travel globally often at short notice.
• Strong written and verbal articulation skills (English), highly engaging and an ability to influence senior executives.
• Analytical skills and the ability to prepare compelling reviews and presentations.
• Capable of working on own initiative with strong lateral thinking skills whilst working within a team of professionals and contributing to teamwork.
• Good understanding of relevant regulatory environment and current regulatory issues.
