The Corporate Treasury group is responsible for managing the investment portfolios and the liquidity and capital positions of the various subsidiary banks and of BNY Mellon.
Description
Evaluate requested journal entries provided by Decision Support for compliance with CAP/GAAP; ensure that support is thorough and transparent. Primary CAP which position will be required to apply the rules for are: CAP A-50, Accounting for Fixed Assets and Leasehold Improvements CAP A-70, Accounting for Prepaid Expenses and Other Assets CAP A-80, Accounting for Software Costs CAP L-30, Accounting for Accruals & Other Liabilities. Monitor posting of approved invoices to assigned Technology cost centers to ensure no duplication with month end accruals. Review and monitor Open invoices during month end close. Ensure transactions are recorded timely and accurate. Respond to Pune Technology Recon team inquires related to reconciliations. Review Technology general ledger reconciliations as assigned. Assist in the analysis, monitoring and conversion of Internally Developed Software (IDS) assets from Work in Progress (WIP) to a fixed asset. Key duties will include: Assist in monitoring the 'Tech Finance Help' mailbox Research and respond to inquiries related to IDS WIP Assist in the preparation of WIP corrections via the monthly EMP file Assist in the process to convert WIP assets to Fixed Assets (ACE process) Assist in execution of the bi-annual WIP impairment surveys, and the annual Fixed Asset impairment survey. Perform periodic quality assurance related to Blackline general ledger account reconciliations. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. . 4-5 years in a similar role. Good knowledge of accounting and finance. Advanced MS Excel skills, including Pivot tables, and look-up functions. Prior Month-end close experience. Excellent communication skills. Other: Good Problem Solving Skills. Self starter who will proactively identify and resolve process and accounting issues.
