The TRO Chennai Operations is an integral part of TRO, and is responsible for a variety of duties providing vital support across 4 operational divisions. It works closely with the Headquarters in Washington D.C. Under the guidance and supervision of a Team Leader and/or Functional Lead, the Financial Analyst will have responsibilities for specific individual tasks/projects as well as for working as an integral part of the team in executing TRO’s work program, while maintaining close relationships with the other Treasury departments. His/her primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, some combination of the following activities to support any of the business lines in TRO’s operational division.
• Perform and/or review daily capital activity of capital calls, cash distributions and stock distributions, and reconcile the same with custodian records;
• Record, review and posting of daily transactions booked in Sungard’s Investran Accounting module for private equity and real estate investments of pension plan’s investment portfolio;
• Create and generate customized reports in Investran’s Report Wizard for monthly and quarter-end performance reporting;
• Perform various transaction and position reconciliations with the custodian on a periodic basis;
• Set up new funds in Investran, maintain static data and provide Administrative support as required;
• Review of quarterly PCAP statements including a reconciliation of investor’s commitment, contributions, distributions, management fees and unfunded commitments;
• Review and analyze management and performance fees from general partners for reasonableness and completeness based on the partnership agreements;
• Stay abreast of US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards and prepare disclosure notes for standards that affect the plans;
• Assist in a variety of tasks within a multi-asset class management business in the areas of operations, accounting, management reporting, valuation control, and performance analytics;
• Assist headquarters in the year-end audit of the pension plans and the review of plan’s financial statements and footnotes;
• Review and supervise the work of junior staff and ensure all TROPO Chennai team’s deliverables and reporting requirements are promptly and accurately met;
• Ensure that all business processes in the unit are properly documented and complied with; and
• Communicate effectively with TRO staff and management both in Chennai and in Washington, D.C. headquarters on the status of all assigned activities
1 . Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (MBA). Professional certifications such as CA / ICWA / CAIA / CFA would have an advantage.
2. 5+ years of relevant work experience supporting fund accounting operations of international investment portfolios or administration of private equity funds. Financial Reporting experience will be a plus.
3. Hands-on knowledge of Sungard’s Investran application, both Accounting and Reporting modules desirable.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting and / or valuation issues related to alternative asset classes (including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, infrastructure, timber and commodities, etc.) preferred.
5. Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including hands-on experience in advanced excel with an ability to write complex formulas are a must. Familiarity with writing macros will be a plus.
6. Ability to deal with various third parties such as custodians, fund administrators, investment managers, general partners etc. to obtain information.
7. Experience in managing client relationship with focus on quality and consistency of meeting client expectations in line with the agreed SLAs including reporting of the KPIs / KRIs.
8. Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written.
9. High level of initiative, self-confidence and a self-starter; ability to apply a practical matured approach to problem solving with minimum supervision.

11. Flexibility to overlap with U.S. hours will be required to meet reporting deadlines along with willingness to travel to Washington D.C. for training and team projects.
