The Position
The Position
As the Diabetes Care organization moves towards a new operating model and separate legal entity status designed to secure our market leadership through increased autonomy and speed, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Lead RDC Finance for Roche Diabetes Care in India. If you are successful, you will have the strong prospect of becoming Finance Manager for the newly established local affiliate. As Project Lead you will, along with the other project team members, initially play a key role in shaping and establishing the local affiliate as well as ensuring effective implementation of the new SAP system for DC.
Main Responsibilities/Core Tasks
Responsibilities (perform):
- Support the DC Affiliate Head in producing an affiliate business strategy & related Finance strategy
- Develop and maintain the local Finance operating model
- Be a Finance Business Partner to the DC Affiliate Head and to other members of the affiliate leadership team (provide insight and challenge to commercial and functional strategies and plans, produce business cases, identify profit improvement, investment, resource allocation, asset utilization opportunities and compliance risks)
- Manage key stakeholders (Regional Commercial & Finance Management, DC global function heads, etc.)
- Manage the services provided by external parties (Finance shared service centre, MI Centre of Excellence, local service providers for tax compliance, statutory accounting, travel & expense processing, etc.)
- Develop and maintain local Financial governance within the global DC and Roche framework and guidelines (e.g. local Delegations of Authority)
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Finance team
- Optimise the skills, knowledge and experience of the local Finance team and manage local talent (HiPo reporting, performance management, staff development, etc.)
Assume accountability for all Finance services and processes performed locally:
- MI, Reporting & Analysis (review & approve key reports & analysis)
- Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting (review & approve local submissions)
- External Reporting (review & approve external reporting, e.g. local stat a/cs)
- Tax Compliance & Reporting (review & approve local submissions)
- Consolidation (review & approve Magnitude/DIS submissions)
- Internal Control (review local ICFR submissions)
- Credit Management, Billing & AR (approve credit limits; write-offs within local DoA)
- Treasury & Cash Management (compliance with group reporting requirements, e.g. cashflow and fx exposure forecast submissions)
- Master Data Management (input, review & approval of local requests for changes to customer, vendor and general ledger master data)
- Document Management (maintenance of financial documents and compliance with local & Group legal and other regulatory requirements)
- Indirect Procurement (review & approve local procurement contracts, commitments, spend, payments within DoA)
- Facilities Management (support affiliate staff in the provision of local facilities – e.g. cleaning, maintenance & repairs; manage outsourced service providers)
- Company Travel (support affiliate staff in the provision of flights, accommodation and other travel & entertaining expenses)
- Fleet Management (support affiliate staff in the provision and maintenance of a company car; manage outsourced fleet management service provider)

- Approval of DC affiliate Finance budget and DC affiliate business plans
- Agreement to major deviations to DC-targets / DC-budget (e.g. headcount increase beyond budget)
- Major changes of the DC-organizational structure, DC-processes and key third party relations of local Diabetes Care (e.g. global business process outsourcing)
- Remuneration, hiring, firing, nominations of DC affiliate Finance team members
- Approval of investments according to DC-capital expenditure guidelines

- Local & regional commercial management (sales, marketing, customer services) – Finance business partner
- Local / Regional HR Manager – talent management and other HR guidance & support

Education level: Qualified accountant – preferably CPA/ACA
Professional experience: Minimum 5-7 years post qualification experience, with several years’ experience in a comparable position with legal entity responsibility within an international business. Experience of sales & marketing, pharmaceuticals industry and/or FMCG would be advantageous
Special knowledge: Fluent in English
