Description
Responsible for planning, conducting, reviewing, and reporting on financial and operational audits. Provides technical guidance to auditors, ensuring that objectives are met.Manages the execution of internal financial, operational and/or system audits and risk assessments within established business process controls.
Develops formal reporting system in order to communicate results of audits to management and regulatory compliance agencies.
Oversees the testing and documentation of financial and computer system records for information integrity and transaction accuracy.
Reports discrepancies.
Makes recommendations to leadership for improvements on financial and operational audits.
Reviews results of external audits and drives implementation of recommended financial and operational system improvements.
Ensures that audit issues are well defined and root causes are identified.
Trains staff to plan, scope, and perform internal audits and risk assessments within established business process controls.
Coaches and mentors internal audit staff; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.
May facilitate work of external auditors during on-site visits.
Qualifications
SkillsNAEducation, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Engineering or related field required. Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification preferred.Experience
Significant experience required, including supervisory experience.
