Job Description

The Assistant Manager, Legal Entity Management (LEM) position is part of the Balance Sheet Management group within Global Treasury. The LEM function has responsibility for ensuring all Treasury activities are conducted in accordance with the proper governance framework. LEM employees work closely with, and support, their colleagues in the rest of the Global Balance Sheet Management group, as well as other areas within Global Treasury, to ensure the balance sheet profiles of subsidiaries are managed in accordance with corporate-wide Treasury policies and strategies, as well as reflecting local regulatory requirements and the subsidiaries’ business purpose. Responsibilities This position focuses on supporting for all treasury related activities for the American Express Banking Corp.India branch. The principal responsibilities will be as follows: • Manage the Funding activities for the Bank – o Prepare the daily liquidity report and ascertain the requirements/surplus for the day o Responsible for execution of deals for deposits, borrowings and investments o Capture treasury related deals in the treasury management system o Month end reconciliation with accounting books o Forecast cash requirements on an ongoing basis • Provide support to the Treasurer for running the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) and the Risk Management Committee(RMC) for AEBC India ; o Prepare the monthly ALCO materials; o Manage the ALCO minutes process including initial drafting, ALCO members review, finalization, and ensuring appropriate approval and sign off o Prepare the deposit rate card for the Bank • Bank Relationship Management o Responsible for managing the day to day banking relationships o Execute documentation with banks for setting up/renewal of credit lines and transaction banking services • Responsible for preparing reports in relation to market risk, Interest rate risk and liquidity risk for regulatory and internal purposes • Support the Treasurer in the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) for the Bank and the associated Stress testing activities • Prepare the annual funding plan for the Bank and conduct stress tests to ascertain the contingency requirements under the oversight of the treasurer • Prepare meeting materials for the AEBC ALCO and the India Board • Liaison with functional treasury teams globally on all aspects of the Banks Treasury needs, including funding, liquidity, capital and asset/liability management as required • Support the Treasurer for managing the annual Treasury policy process for the India branch;

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to analyze financial problems, and formulate and present findings clearly and in a compelling manner; • Able to manage multiple priorities effectively, and with a record of driving results; • Strong knowledge of compliance, regulatory and control environments; • Must be a highly motivated self-starter and quick learner who can lead initiatives to deliver solutions around a variety of Treasury issues; • Knowledge and experience in banking sector,financial markets, and legal entity management preferred • MBA /CA • Experience 5-6 years
