Job Summary:
  • Leading the internal taxation function of the GDN finance function across all GDN locations, though primary focus will be GDN India

Purpose of the Job:
 
This role is intended to ensure tax planning structuring and compliance across all the GDN locations.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  1. Tax policies, planning and compliances
  2. Cross border contracting/ People movement/ PE management
  3. International Tax support/ Transfer pricing
  4. Ensure payments can be made as tax deductible and free of indirect or withholding tax

Details include:
 
This role would be responsible for handling entire gamut of tax matters (especially in India) including Direct taxes (Income Tax, TDS, International Taxation, Transfer Pricing etc.) as well as Indirect Taxes (VAT, Service Tax, Customs, Excise, local levies etc.). Primary responsibilities and accountabilities shall include:
1) Tax planning and compliances.
  1. Direct and Indirect tax compliances (Regular periodical compliances like  deposit of taxes, return filing, submissions, evaluating legislative changes in advance tax, withholding taxes, transfer pricing, service tax, CENVAT, VAT etc.)
  2. Employee taxation (from a PE perspective)
  3. Handling International Tax matters (PE, Transfer Pricing, APA / AAR filings and rulings etc.)
  4. Coordinating and handling Tax Assessments, Appeals, Audits, Attend notices, timely submissions/reply etc related to various tax matters
  5. Coordination with Tax consultants/advisors for various tax matters and support in decisions/actions.
  6. Supporting the business by providing requisite tax support in various commercial decisions
  7. LTax Accounting (Current and deferred), Tax Reconciliations and Tax Audits
  8. Co-ordinate with Global Tax team and local tax teams to ensure alignment with EY Global / local policies.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
 
  • Involves analysis of tax laws as well information collated from the books of accounts for submission to tax authorities
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
  • Tax technical knowledge (strong for India and working knowledge of international laws).
Supervision Responsibilities:
  • The number of direct reports are not expected to be significant. However, this role involves extensive co-ordination with tax advisors and other functions within the Finance team and decision making with respect to all the above-mentioned tax matters.

Job Requirements:

Education:
  •  Chartered Accountant
Experience:
  • Experience in handling direct/indirect/international tax matters for 13+ years.
