CSRE- SERVICES FINANCE AND PLANNING ANALYST - QUALIFIED ACCOUNTANT - BANGALORE
Preferred Qualifications
Principal Responsibilities• Manage month-end close processes including accruals, prepaid entries and variance analysis
• Supporting business finance activities like invoice management process, allocations and accruals.
• Single point of contact for expense related queries from Business Units, Legal entity Controllers etc.
• Analyze spend across multiple expense lines, provide explanations for major variances and support functional reporting.
• Monitor key cost pool balances and ensure accurate charge out of costs to Firm wide divisions.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and assist in managing various audit and other disclosure requirements.
• Real-time support for Budgeting and Forecasting related activities for Business Units
• Partner with global finance teams in key initiatives.
• Work closely with other members of the real estate and business services finance team to ensure integration and collaboration with other business managers across various geographies.
Basic Qualifications
Experience / Skills• Qualified Accountant - Fresh Chartered Accountant (cleared CA final exam in May 2013 or November 2013) in the first or second attempt.
• Possesses clarity and understanding of accounting concepts acquired during professional training.
• Strong analytic skills and ability to summarize and present information at a management level.
• Communicate appropriately and effectively both verbally and in writing.
• MS Office skills – Advanced MS Excel knowledge.
• Exposure to financial tools and applications including functional understanding of any ERP system PeopleSoft 8.9 (General Ledger, Accounts Payable) during CA articleship would be an advantage.
• Strong networking skills to establish contacts and partnerships with other divisions.
• Impeccable attention to detail.
• Ability to organise own time and work independently, without close supervision
• Courage to challenge current practice and initiative to suggest new ways of working

Position Summary :
The Services Finance and Planning Analyst, a member of the Global Services Finance function, will be engaged in managing the books and accounts of the global corporate services division. The Corporate Services division covers the Real Estate, Business Services and Capital management function. The Analyst would be a member of this Finance team, which is the ‘Centre of Excellence’, based in Bangalore and would work closely with the global finance team. This role would be part of the ‘2014 Analyst Class’ at the Corporate Services Division and would have the opportunity to undergo training and build a successful career at Goldman Sachs.
The position will manage the month end general ledger close activities and will be responsible for accurate accounting and reporting of those numbers including ownership for Balance Sheet Substantiation on a quarterly basis as well as various expense analysis requirements. Reporting and Analysis is also key to this role in addition to demonstrating sound accounting skills. The role would involve engaging with various stakeholders such as Legal entity Controllers, Accounting Services Division, Local and Regional Finance teams. The successful candidate should be prepared to assume a broader role over a period of time and aim at building a long term career at the firm.
