Job Description: Responsible for managing the activities of general accounting functions. Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures, and policies. Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data. Acts as liaison between the company, government and CPA auditors in providing the required information and ensuring that proper information is maintained for historical purposes. Requires extensive theoretical, practical, and industry knowledge. Applies and/or develops highly advanced technologies, principles, and concepts.Person will be responsible for carrying out general accounting function for multiple Intel entities operating in India which requires compliance with both US GAAP and local GAAP requirements to ensure both correctness and completeness of books of accounts. Responsibility will include thorough review of trial balance during the month close and validate explanations for variances in the Balance Sheet and P&L accounts. Identifying errors timely and carrying out correction activities within defined timelines before ledger close is a basic expectation. Reviewing reconciliation of ledger accounts and analysis of open items on a monthly basis is a key deliverable hence the candidate should be competent adequately and must possess relevant experience in similar lines.
Person will be a key contact for local statutory & tax reporting. He will be expected to play a lead role in the statutory audit process and manage relationship with statutory auditors including resolving all audit queries timely. Individual will need to possess robust knowledge in regulatory and compliance requirements. Keeping Intel Legal is a fundamental element of the job. Expert knowledge on accounting standards and disclosure requirements relating to financial statements under the Companies Act is a basic expectation for this job. Sound knowledge on Direct & Indirect Tax requirements is expected in this position including Corporate Tax / TDS / Transfer Pricing, VAT & Service Tax etc. Sound skills in preparing Corporate Income Tax returns will be an added advantage.
Person should be capable of accomplishing commitments in a complex environment and be able to lead & achieve business results through self-drive. This position will receive minimal guidance from management. Fundamental to this position is robust communication and stakeholder management skills since multiple stakeholders including Global Tax & Trade in particular has a very high dependency on accounting.
Individual will need to work closely with Malaysia shared service center to ensure alignment during close and also two-way flow of information between the two sites. Competency in ensuring adequate controls around recording of transactions and accuracy of the financial statements is essential to this position.
Person should be able to identify high impact projects both in accounting & other finance function and work towards driving the project with all relevant stakeholders located within & outside India. Application of acumen & Influencing skills will need to be demonstrated in driving such projects. Person will be expected to drive continuous improvements in processes & bringing in efficiency while maintaining highest level of controls effectiveness.
